Can you recondition serrated slotting knives?
Yes, we can do this. Usually we recondition these once only.
How quick can you recondition worn knives?
Normal turnaround is 1-2 weeks, but if there is an urgent need, we provide a 24hr service. Please ask.
What is the typical manufacturing time on new knives?
Depending on the type of knife, this can vary greatly. For some simple knives, if not in stock, we need around 2-4 weeks. For serrated slotting knives typically we need up to 6-8 weeks. We can where necessary fast track an order to speed it through.
Can you make non-standard knives or parts, with special features?
Absolutely. Our technical design team can assist with a special requirement to suit your application. Ask about our enhanced knife features and special crease profiles.
What do you need to supply Shok Bloks for my machine?
We just require the upper slotting head detail, and lower slot knife dimensions. See our spec sheet for this.
What Shok Blok® blade height do I need to use?
The blade heights are colour coded to indicate their mm height. We have a chart to assist in matching the blade with the board type. Also see the fitting instructions.

Can Swift-Crease™ creaser rings be fitted to any printer-slotter or casemaker?
Yes, so long as there is enough space to fit the replaceable insert. Send details of existing creaser ring for confirmation.
Can Uni-Tip™ inserts be used on all my slotters?
Yes! Where multiple machines are running the same slot width, the same Uni-Tip can be used for all.
Can we provide a waste chop system on trim edge?
Where the trim heads allow, it’s possible to fit our Shok Blok® system in multiple places to chop the trim.
Do you have a cost effective alternative to brass / bronze slot strippers and yoke guides?
The latest engineering plastics can offer good value and performance, ask for a quote for Oilon or PEEK.
How do I arrange a collection of my samples / worn parts?
Simply give us the weight and size of the package and we will get it collected. Just make sure it’s well packed!
